A HUGE thank you to all who participated in Saturday's Food Drive! UDATES ON FUTURE EVENTS/ORGANIZING COMING SOON!
Neighbors,
As the Coronavirus continues to affect our community, Seattle Public Schools have closed until (at least) the end of March. Many children in our community rely on free or reduced school provided meals. With the current school closures, the School District is providing lunches between 11am-1pm at 26 schools (these locations can be found on the SPS website). Unfortunately, there are still families who may not be able to make it to these sites, so we are asking for your help in assisting some of our neighborhood children with breakfasts and lunches.
We will be hosting a food drive (focusing on Kid-Friendly breakfast, lunch and snack foods) to support families with children, at Magnuson Community Center:
This Saturday, March 14th 11:30am-2:30pm
Magnuson Community Center 7110 62nd Ave NE Seattle, WA 98115
You can help by: 1. Getting the word out - post on social media, invite your friends and neighbors to donate 2. Making a food donation 3. Donating your time! Contact us to learn more and volunteer. 4. Washing your hands often, practicing good hygiene, and staying home if you are sick.
How to make a donation: When you arrive with your delivery, please drive to the front of the pull around in front of the Community Center. If possible, please have your donation bagged and easily accessible to speed up the process and limit contact. Our volunteers (wearing masks and gloves) will help take your donations. The donations will be sorted, and accessible to families after 3pm.
What should you donate? Think simple, KID-FRIENDLY and easy!
Breakfast foods like cereal, oatmeal, bread, jams, frozen waffles, fruits
Lunch foods like bread, sandwich meats, cheese, mustard, mayo, peanut butter, jelly, soup, Mac-n-cheese, fruits and veggies.
